Apple iPad, we all know, is a device created by one of the biggest computer industry, Apple. Like iPhone and Apple Mac, iPad also uses the same operating system, iOS. Earlier, it had notification centre widgets, which used to be an easier way to get the extra information quickly. Now, the iPad OS gives users pinned screen widgets which enables easier access to the apps, and moreover, it comes with some newer apps, too, like apps for news and dictionary, etc. It also enables more productivity for your homescreen.
How to Add Widgets on iPad Homescreen
First, we have to find the screen widget. For that, one may find it in the option “Today’s view”. Keep swiping from left to right until you find it. Today’s View can also be set next to your first home screen. Next, follow these few steps :
- Go to Today’s View settings and keep swiping up until the “Edit” button appears and tap on it.
- In Today’s View settings, you have to keep the toggle “Keep on Home Screen” enabled, if you want to pin widgets.
- You can find other types of widgets in “More Widgets” by scrolling down the same page. You can alter the widgets from time to time by choosing from Favourites. Favourites can be filled up by adding various widgets from Today’s view.
Note: You can tap on Red minus icon on the left To remove a widget, whether it’s pinned or in favourites, one have to just tap on the red (-) sign on the left. The selected widget will move back in the “More Widgets”. The widgets put up in the Today’s view, can maximum be up to 3.
These were a few steps which are needed to adding widgets on the iPad home screen. This new input of screen widget in the iPad OS makes the user interface more smoother and more accessible. This is a great change for the iPad.
